Worship and Arts

At Origins, we recognize we were built to commune with the Lord by spending time with Him, telling Him how good He is, resting in Him, celebrating the beauty of His Family, and finally, being built up as active members of His Body, reaching into the world with His love, grace, and hope. Worship is a free expression of all of these things, sometimes through home grown songs, sometimes through silence, sometimes through prayerfully bearing one another’s burdens.

We believe that both our personal and gathered times of worship shape who we are, help us to understand what God is saying to us and empower us to bring the beauty of the Kingdom into the places we live life.

Our community of worship leaders is inspired by these Scriptures:

Ephesians 5:18-20

Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-13

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
