Prayer:
Prayer is foundational to everything we do in the Origins community. We believe in the power of prayer to change lives, relationships, communities, cities and nations. You can help support the Origins community through prayer. The FUMC Parlor Room is available for prayer starting at 4:30pm on Sunday evenings when Origins meets at FUMC. A prayer group meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm at Edna Riley’s house. These are also good times to come for healing prayer or extended prayer for specific needs. For more information about emerging prayer groups, see the Origins e-newsletter. A team of people is also prepared to pray with you during and after the Sunday night gathering.
Healing for Life’s Deepest Hurts:
Many individuals struggle to live a life of freedom and overcome nagging issues that keep them from reaching their fullest potential. Whether you are struggling with a single issue, deep wounds that seem to rob you of joy and freedom, or just feel there is a hindrance to your walk with the Lord, you can find people who are prepared to minister to you and to appropriate Scripture to help you “work out your own salvation” (Philippians 2:12). The sanctification process is more easily accomplished as you discover the schemes and themes used by the enemy to hinder your walk with God. Teams of individuals serve the Origins community through directed prayer and ministry to bring healing from life’s deepest hurts.
Issue Focus Ministry teams invest 3 hours of contact time plus additional time for preparation, prayer, and intercession for each Ministry Receiver. Your first point of contact for ministry with any of the Issue Focus Ministry teams is your home group or home church leader. You may also contact Edna Riley at edna7@me.com or Shauna Rushing, shauna.rushing@gmail.com.
While the Issue Focus Ministry is a service of the church, some desire more intensive ministry. The Restoring the Foundations Thorough-Format ministry is available for those seeking deeper and broader ministry. The Thorough-Format ministry team invests 15 hours of contact time with the Ministry Receiver plus additional time for preparation, prayer, and intercession. For fees and scheduling of Thoroug-Format Ministry, contact Edna Riley at edna7@me.com.
